MATCH PREVIEW - MANCHESTER UNITED v SHEFFIELD UNITED

Venue - Bramall Lane, Sheffield
Kick Off - Saturday, December 17-  20:00 GMT
                 Sunday , December 18 - 01:30 IST

It's been a difficult season to explain for Man United so far.. At one point they were struggling in the Premier League but absolutely flying in Europe. Now they console themselves over their Champions League exit over a good run of games in the Premier League. It's funny how one match changes things but that seems to be the case at United where a win is applauded but loose a game and everybody calls for Solskjaer's head. The recent draw against Manchester City needed something to spark it but it didn't come and it finished as a bore 0 - 0 draw. The thing with Solskjaer's side is you never know what to expect. They will either tear you apart or they will play like they are playing in the Sunday League. Away from home it usually has been the former where going behind is the equivalent of the opposition poking the bear. At home there is just a solitary win against the Magpies. The red devils will be looking to extend their away run against bottom side Sheffield United.

As for the Blades, nothing has gone right this season for them. It looks like people have figured out the key to breaking their overlapping centre backs style of play. They have missed Dean Henderson in between the sticks and he will be likely warming the bench in the away dugout after two successful seasons on loan here. They are still looking for their first win and they are up against a Man United side who has a perfect away record so far in the Premier League this season. It's going to be a huge ask but what better way to really kick start the season than beating Manchester United. The Blades need points badly or they are facing a difficult path to stay in England's top tier.

TEAM FORM

Man United's form in the Premier League recently has been extremely good. They are unbeaten in 5 games with 3 away wins, a win against West Brom (their first at home this season in the Premier League) and the recent draw against the Citizens. It will be interesting to see what they come up with against a struggling Blades' side.

As for Sheffield United, they are still looking for their first win in the Premier League this season after the outrageously good campaign last season where they flirted with European football for majority of the season. However the second season syndrome threatens to put them back in the Championship. Can they pull of a great escape?? Only time will tell!!

TEAM NEWS

Edinson Cavani may be fit enough to be included in the match day squad even if not for a starting place. There is also the issue of the FA charging him for misconduct. Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo are long term absentees. Martial may be fit enough to start the game.

Jack O'Connell and Kean Bryan look likely to miss out for the hosts. Ollie McBurnie is touch and go according to Chris Wilder.

PREDICTED TEAM

David de Gea should retain his place in goal. United may revert back to the 4 - 2 - 3 - 1 formation. Paul Pogba may continue to be selected after some good form recently. Martial may also be back in the squad. As for the left back place it may be Telles who starts because Sheffield United are a tough side to break down and Luke Shaw has just recovered from injury.

PLAYER TO WATCH OUT FOR

BRUNO FERNANDES - He has been Manchester United's talisman since he arrived in January and he always seems to contribute to the game no matter what. He is a leader on the pitch and dictates play according to a mental map. His record away from home is incredibly good and he will be hoping to capitalise on a struggling Sheffield United defence making him THE ONE TO WATCH OUT FOR..

VERDICT

This should be an extremely easy win..

Sheffield United 0 - 4 Manchester United. Fernandes and Martial to score.
