MATCH REVIEW - MANCHESTER UNITED VS WEST HAM

Image
Manchester United beat West Ham in FA Cup 5th Round Manchester United were left in agony after their PL clash against Everton ended on level terms as Calvert-Lewin netted a 95th-minute equaliser. The Red Devils missed an opportunity to go level on points with Manchester City, even if that was for only 21 hours. We allowed City to further the gap between us and look up the table to see them 5 pts clear at the top with a game in hand. Let's accept it. City are running riot at the moment. A game in the FA Cup allows managers to rotate their team and fringe players to come into the side. Not when you're Manchester United. We have a knack of drawing relatively stronger opposition from the available pool. This time around it was a revitalised West Ham side . Although, Solskjaer did rest Bruno and Shaw and brought in Van de Beek and Telles. I've to be really frank. This was possibly the dullest 90 minutes of football I've seen in a while. Manchester United dominated possess...

MAN UNITED v WEST BROM - MATCH PREVIEW

Image
TRIVIA Venue - Old Trafford, Manchester Kick Off - Saturday, November 21 -  21:00 GMT                   Sunday , November 22 - 01:30 IST The Red Devils will be looking to build upon their recent win over Everton and hopefully kick-start their season. The International Break came at a bad time for Manchester United as we had gotten a good response to a string of bad results. Also this break has complicated the United's injury list with a few more people injured. Now with United having to play twice every game week it will be crucial for them to get this run off to a winning start. This win will also help overturn their fortunes at home.   As for West Brom they will be looking for their first win in the Premier League since returning back this year. West Brom are one of the weakest sides in the Premier League and it is up to Bilic to pull off a miracle and keep them up. They would want to take advantage of United's wo...

MATCH PREVIEW - PSG v MANCHESTER UNITED

TRIVIA Venue - Parc De Princes, Paris Kick Off - Saturday, October 20 -  20:00 GMT                   Saturday, October 21 - 12:30 IST After a sluggish start to the season for Manchester United, things finally came together for the Red Devils against Newcastle as they dispatched the Magpies convincingly, beating them 4 - 1. United's goals were extremely fluid and they had finally found the attacking mojo that was seen during the second half of last season. Today, they return to the stadium where Ole Gunnar Solskjaer enjoyed his best ever win as Manchester United's manager, where he masterminded a 3 - 1 comeback - which was won in trademark Solskjaer style - an injury time winner. It was one one of the best Champions League nights in United history and that is what gave Ole the job. One and a half year in, the Norwegian guided United to 3rd place in the Premier League and looks to be here to stay. Our French rivals, Paris Saint...

MATCH REVIEW - LUTON TOWN v MANCHESTER UNITED

Image
MATCH STATS TALKING POINTS Manchester United started the match brightly as Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard had a few early attempts that were saved by the keeper. Donny van de Beek looked at home as he was the one pulling the strings in midfield. The bright start however faded out and and one point it looked like Luton Town would be pulling off an upset. Just before half half-time Brandon Williams was brought down inside the box and the subsequently awarded penalty was converted by Juan Mata. United went into half time a goal in front. The second half started the same way but United failed to make chances pay and Luton tried to build on attack after attack. After Donny van de Beek's effort was saved near post by Shea, Luton almost levelled the game on  the other end only to be denied by a stunning save from debutant goalkeeper Dean Henderson who had nothing to do apart from that. Solskjaer sensing that Luton could claw their way back, brought on Bruno, Rashford and Greenwood after 80 m...

MATCH PREVIEW - LUTON TOWN v MANCHESTER UNITED

TRIVIA Venue - Luton Town Football Stadium, Luton Kick Off - Tuesday, September 22 - 20:15 GMT                   Wednesday, September 23 - 00:45 IST Manchester United lost their opening fixture in the Premier League to Crystal Palace in what was probably one of the worst performances from the Red Devils in recent times and it was a huge let down to start the season with a defeat and it may have hurt our ambitions for this season. United showed no passion and Crystal Palace deservedly won again at Old Trafford. It is up to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer now to lift team spirits and make them deliver against Luton Town. Carabao Cup is a trophy the Red Devils could realistically win this season and they need to put the effort in to have a chance. As for Luton Town, they have enjoyed a strong start to the Championship campaign as they have won their first two fixtures and currently sit third in the table with wins over Barnsley and Derby County...

HOW DOES DONNY VAN DE BEEK FIT IN AT UNITED??

Image
-By Varun Sangwan Donny Van de Beek became Manchester United's first signing of the summer transfer window with hopefully more to follow in a reported £35 million deal. The former Ajax midfielder is only 23 years old and has the best of his career in-front of him and we take a look at what he brings to United and what he brings to the Red Devils.. 1. HE STRENGTHENS OUR MIDFIELD Donny Van de Beek without a shadow of a doubt is going to add more strength to our midfield, that consists of the likes of Matic, Pogba, Fernandes, McTominay and Fred. He may be the final piece in our midfield as he can literally play in any position in the centre of the park - be it a defensive midfielder, a box-to-box midfielder or even an attacking midfielder. An excellent dribbler of the ball, Van de Beek knows how to progress the ball quickly in midfield, something which fits right into Solskjaer's system and can be a more than capable substitute for any position in the center of the park. 2. WHERE ...
