MANCHESTER UNITED v BURNLEY - MATCH PREVIEW

Image
Manchester United come into the game in top form, having not lost their last 19 games in all competitions, with the previous seven being victories. The red devils are currently second in the league and are set to qualify for the Champions League quite comfortably next season. Key to all proceedings this season has been the Portuguese magnifico - Bruno Fernandes, who has been in sensational form this season, averaging a goal involvement per game. Manchester United will be looking to capitalize on this recent form, and a win against Burnley will further cement their place as the second-best team in England at this moment in time. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will also be looking to break the Burnley jinx, whose record at Old Trafford in the past five years has been exemplary.  Sean Dyche's men, on the other hand, will be looking to stay up in England's top tier as they are currently 7 points off 17th placed Fulham with a game in hand. They are unlikely to get relegated, but as long as t...

Tottenham Hotspurs vs Manchester United - Match Preview

Solskjaer's turn to get his revenge? [via Football.London] Manchester United are set to face Jose Mourinho’s Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in a clash which is important for both Mourinho and Ole. Winning the game will help the Red Devils reduce the gap to 11 points between the noisy neighbours at the top of the table. Man City dropped points against Leeds United (beating Bielsa ball isn't for everyone), allowing Solskjaer a glimmer of hope to close the gap between the two. United have a game in hand over the Blues and could possibly reduce the deficit to 8 pts. Just saying, Manchester City were 8 pts behind Manchester United with 6 games to go when they won the 11/12 Premier League Title. Mourinho has been under intense scrutiny this season [via Techno Trenz] Mourinho needs the win to keep Spurs Champions League hopes alive, which would be the least Spurs' fans would expect of him. After all, they saw their club crash out of both the Europa League and the FA Cup to...

FA CUP QUARTER FINAL SHOWDOWN AGAINST THE FOXES

The Red Devils face an in-form Leicester City in the Last 8 of the FA Cup TRIVIA Venue - King Power Stadium Kickoff - Sunday, March 21, 17:00 GMT                                                          22:30 IST Solskjaer's Manchester United have fared pretty well in what has been said as a season-defining week for the club. After a few dismal 0-0 draws, The Red Devils were to face a rampant Manchester City side, running away with the title. And oh boy, were they up for it. We brought an end to City's 21-game winning streak through a wonderful team performance. The very next match, we had a below-par performance against AC Milan in the Europa League, somehow got a goal and somehow gave it away in the last minute.  Having more or less secured Top 4 with a win against West Ham , Manchester United also knocked out ...

MANCHESTER UNITED V WEST HAM - PREVIEW

Image
Manchester United face West Ham tonight! TRIVIA Venue - Old Trafford Kickoff - Sunday, March 15, 00:45 IST Manchester United have been hit and miss so far this season. The team's form has been highly inconsistent. You never know which Manchester United is going to turn up. On their day, they can beat the best team in England i.e Manchester City and also be the team that loses to the bottom of the league team (in this case Sheffield United). The Red Devils are too reliant on certain players and that could backfire in big matches. Bruno Fernandes and Luke Shaw have been outstanding this season while there have been many average performances too by the likes of Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof. It will be interesting to see which Manchester United turns up against The Hammers . As for West Ham United, David Moyes has brought them to a place where no one would have ever believed was possible. Moyes was odds on favourite to be sacked after 10 games after West Ham were handed a...

THE MANCHESTER DERBY - PREVIEW

Image
TRIVIA Venue - Etihad Stadium Kickoff - Sunday, March 7, 22:00 GMT Manchester United have been hit and miss so far this season. The team's form has been highly inconsistent. You never know which Manchester United is going to turn up. Having not scored in more than 5 hours of football, the Red Devils will be desperate to put their scoring woes to bed once and for all. The bigger question however will be raised of their defensive capabilities against a Manchester City side who have found their mojo back. Bruno Fernandes will be key for the Red Devils if they want to challenge for the title instead of resigning to the fact that the noisy neighbours will be heading for their 5th English crown. As for Manchester City , the team is brimming with confidence. Ruben Dias and John Stones have together solved the defensive woes that plagued their side last year and they will be looking to keep up their good attacking form too. Kevin de Bruyne will be key for the Mancunian rivals as they wil...

Manchester United suffered a 1-3 defeat in the reverse fixture [via American Red Devils] TRIVIA Venue - Selhurst Park, London Kickoff - Wednesday, March 3, 20:15 GMT                Thursday, March 4, 1:45 IST Manchester United have been hit and miss so far this season. The team's form has been highly inconsistent. You never know which Manchester United is going to turn up. The Red Devils have managed to keep Real Sociedad and Chelsea at bay in the last 2 matches. Although, they themselves have failed to score in either of the ties. Manchester United are winless against the "Big 6" this season [via Reddit] What's more concerning is Manchester United's record against the traditional "Big Six" of Premier League. The Reds held an excellent record against the Big 6 last season, in fact, one bettered only by Liverpool. Although Solskjaer preferred a back three last season against such opposition over the current back four, the general overlay of the te...

MATCH PREVIEW - MANCHESTER UNITED VS REAL SOCIEDAD

Image
Manchester United are virtually through after beating Sociedad 0-4 in the away leg TRIVIA Venue - Old Trafford, Manchester Kick-Off - Thursday, February 25, 20:00 GMT                      Friday, February 26, 1:30 IST Manchester United are virtually through to the Round of 16 after thumping Real Sociedad 0-4 away from home . Until and unless we've an absolute freak result, The Red Devils should comfortably get over this tie. Having such a healthy advantage gives Solskjaer the perfect opportunity to rotate his squad and give regular first-teamers a much-needed rest. Ole's boys seem to have returned to form after a dip, which saw them drop points in a 3-3 draw against Everton and a 1-1 draw against West Brom . Since then, United have kicked off their Europa League campaign in style and won 3-1 against Newcastle in a convincing manner. Meanwhile, Real Sociedad will look to keep the aggregate low and avoid another free-scoring ...

MATCH PREVIEW - REAL SOCIEDAD v MANCHESTER UNITED

Image
Manchester United kick off their Europa League campaign against Real Sociedad TRIVIA Venue - Allianz Arena, Turin Kick-Off - Thursday, February 10                  11:25 IST Manchester United in this topsy-turvy season have perhaps found their identity. United can be counted on as being predictably unpredictable and that leads to a lot of shock results good or bad. They will want to bounce back from a 1 - 1  draw against relegation candidates West Bromwich Albion . Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will want to do better than their last season in the Europa League and want to get his hands on silverware with the Premier League looking a bit far out of reach now.  Real Sociedad are no joke , they are a force to be reckoned with this season. The Spanish side has been playing out of their skin this season and sit fifth in the league. David Silva has added incentive to beat the Red Devils after his glorious career at the Etihad where he over...

It took us 97 minutes and a lethal finish from Scott McTominay to break the deadlock against West Ham in the FA Cup 5th Round . The Red Devils title hopes have hit a slump since their 2-1 loss to Sheffield United. Meanwhile, Man City have been running rampant as they sit 5 pts clear on top with a game in hand. West Brom are winless in the last 5 games, picking up just a solitary point against Fulham. The Baggies sit bottom of the league on basis of home form, meanwhile Manchester United are joint top with Leceister on basis of away fo...
