Manchester United move a step closer to Europa League Semi-Finals after a comfortable 2-0 first-leg win over Granada at Estadio Los Carmenes. The Red Devils displayed a much-improved game as compared to the one against Brighton.

United took control of the match early on in the game. They restricted Granada to the odd sight of goal, as they engaged De Gea into some Routine Saves. On-loan Chelsea forward Kenedy blazed a volley from a small frame. Former Spurs striker Roberto Soldado lashed a shot into the side netting. United switched off from a freekick and nearly paid the price 5 minutes before the break, but the woodwork came to their rescue as on-loan Manchester City midfielder Yangel Herrera's cross-shot cannoned off the post. Besides these, the Spanish side did not threaten United.

Rashford notched his 8th European Goal of the season in the 31st minute. Rashford timed his run perfectly when Lindelof made an exquisite pinpoint diagonal from his own backline. Bruno Fernandes reinforced the foundations in the 90th minute as he scored a penalty with just 1 open eye.

The Red Devils have now registered 2 goals and a clean sheet in the last 4 matches. Ole made 3 changes from the win over Brighton, but the only genuine piece of rotation came in the goal. De Gea started for the first time since late February. Solskjaer made the gamble of starting Rashford, who was still feeling the side effects of his ankle injury. The negative aspect to the evening was the 3 bookings which rule out Maguire, Shaw and McTominay from the second leg.

Despite missing out on Maguire, Shaw and McTominay, United sit comfortably with a 2 goal advantage over Granada as they meet next week for the second leg. Manchester United travel to Tottenham on Super Sunday at 16:30hrs.
